Round 1 had great vibes!
It's been a while since I've been to a local racing event that had such a great vibe. In my experience, having attended and worked world class racing events - the vibe, that unmistakable feeling that something big is happening, is what separates the evidently amateur from awe-inspiring professional.
Spec-D as a series has worked very hard to make drift racing in Alberta an approachable sport, for both spectators and drivers alike, and this past may long weekend has been a beautiful showcase of all that work coming to fruition.
The grandstands were full, the media presence was high, and we finally had Livestream equipment in our hands, to cover the competition. That's not to say it didn't go with-out hiccups, because it did (On our end anyway) but that, in my opinion, adds to the charm.
